1869 Canadian fishing stations of Gaspé and Pasbébiac were owned by a Jersey firm of Charles Robin and Co who had a fleet of over 450 vessels that made regular trips between Jersey and Gaspé
1869 Waterworks Company starts operations
1869 Jersey Mutual Fire Insurance Company founded
1870 Opening of St Helier - St Aubin railway. Gorey route followed three years later
1870 Transportation of criminals abolished
