Families associated with the property

In 1941 the Du Val family was still living here. We have not been able to confirm the relationships between all members of the household, but we believe that Moses was then head of houshold and that Ada, née Brasford (1889- ) was his second wife. Moses' son Hedley Stuart du Val (1904- ) was married to Dorothy, nee Vautier (1903- ) and their chidren were Doris May (1926- ), Hedley John, Adele Ruby and Leslie Graham. Also in the household was Emma du Val (1885- )

Historic Environment Record entry

Listed building

This mid/late 19th century rendered house retains its character and historic features. The outbuildings retain their integrity and create a fine, cohesive group with historic features and character remaining.

The gable of the ruined house is shown on the Richmond Map of 1795. The three-bay cottage is possibly mid-19th century along with the northwest range of outbuildings. The main house and northeast range of outbuildings date from towards late 19th century.
