Families associated with the property
- Smith: Jabez Smith, who was born in Huntingdonshire, is said to have had the house built in 1864, and lived there from then until his death, with his wife Charlotte, née Ward. The view southwards was, at that time, of sandy meadows and dunes, with the sea in the distance. Jabez was a smoker, which was not popular with his wife. Smoking was therefore only permitted in the attached greenhouse, where he spent many happy hours! The property was inherited, on the death of Mrs Smith in 1897, by their grand-daughter, Maud Irene Briard (1865-1953). Mrs Briard had her own home, Bulwark House, so let Millbrook Lodge until 1921, when she finally sold it
- Saunders: In 1941 Albert Saunders (1880- ), his wife Margaret Frances, née Gibbs (1887- ) and their son Clifton William (1912- ) and daughter Dorothy Julia Florence (1921- ) were living here
- Maloret: In 1941 Adolphus John Maloret (1902- ), his wife Marcille Marie Jeanne, nee Durel (1902- ) and their daughter Madeline Marcelle Marie (1935- ) were living here
