Historic Environment Record entry

Listed building

18th century farm group with mid-19th century outbuildings and rare 17th century attached rear wing. It is likely the rear half of a 17th century house survives behind a refronted south facade.

This building retains historic character and features. Shown on the Richmond Map of 1795.

The unusual rear service wing appears to be of 17th century date and, therefore, pre-dates the rebuilding of the refronted main house. It may have enclosed or replaced the original tourelle stair to upper levels but without a full survey its original function remains unknown - it now serves as a kitchen.

Main house with west and east extensions; rear extension and service wing; stable/outbuilding and pigsties north of main house.
