Burrard Street

Burrard Street in the late 19th and early 20th century was a much more important shopping area than it has since become

W R Renouf had an ironmonger's shop at 22 Burrard Street early in the 20th century. The building has long since been replaced by a modern brick shopfront. However, this building is an exception on this side of the street, and just to the right, No 26 (Big Maggy's Coffee Shop) and 28 (Brown's Antiques) still have largely original shopfronts. There are many other fine Victorian facades along both sides of Burrard Street, and an unusual single-story shopfront next to Waterloo Lane
