This cluster of buildings is shown on the Richmond Map of 1795.
Maison du Vau Tocque has likely 18th century origins, although the style of the corbelled fireplace in the single-storey 'wing' and presence of beach cobbles suggests a possible earlier 17th century construction date.
The interior of the house was re-fitted in the early 19th century and refurbished early in the 21st century.
The 18th century house is two-storey, five-bay with an adjoining single-storey building to the southeast. It has a new pantile roof with brick chimneys on each gable.
