This group of buildings, of circa 1830s origins, retain historic character and demonstrate many phases of development and the various techniques of the art of the stone masons working in the L'Etacq quarries in the 19th century. This being an important historical centre of stone production this gives the group of buildings added significance.
Main house with rear, west lean-to extension, extensions to north, and a pair of joined houses, running east/west, to the north. Stone well-head.
Main house: 2 storey, 5 bay. East (front) elevation: slate roof with 3 brick chimneys. Squared stone construction with dressed openings and a half completed datestone with 18 ASV 31 incised (it is visually clear when viewing the facade and gable end that the main house was originally a single storey building that had been heightened probably soon after completion). The original door is now half-glazed.
West lean-to extension: 2 storey, 2 bay with end of roadside gable entrance and loading door above. West (front) elevation: slate roof. Squared, rusticated construction with dressed openings of different size between storeys and dressed quoins at angles.
Northern houses: both of 2 storey, 3 bays. Front (south) elevations: slate roofs with brick chimneys. Squared, rusticated stone construction (the west house has 6 protruding corbels from the facade, likely supported an exterior veranda). Rusticated stone openings at the angles. Timber 4 pane (2/2) sashes with horns and half-glazed timber doors. 1950s/60s extensions.
