Historic Environment Record entry
Listed building
Historic farm group, principally early-mid 19th century with south barn of earlier origins. The group retains historic character and fabric, contributing to the rural setting. Earlier arrangement shown on Richmond map 1795, although only south bakehouse appears to survive from this period.
Farmhouse consisting of two three-bay, two-storey sections descending hillside with stable at lower level to west, detached barn to south and washhouse to north.
Front garden boundary wall in granite with brick piers and timber gate. Rear elevation of main house partly obscured by single-storey modern extension.
The south barn retains two large roughly worked beams on either side of the central doorway; and a fireplace with adjacent remains of brick bread oven - the fireplace comprising an offset timber lintel supported by a granite corbel, projecting wall on west side supporting cob hood, supported by dressed granite jamb with quarry wedge marks.
The washhouse retains an integral brick bread oven and copper in the north-west corner.
